The new World Trade Center in New York City promises to be the most environmentally advanced building ever created on such a scale. The WTC complex is seeking the second highest attainable LEED Certification, which requires 20 percent less energy consumption than New York State’s energy code requirements. A few of the buildings green strategies include harvesting rain water, wastewater recycling and use of recycled material for interior spaces.
