Listen to the audio for my own personal remembrance of meeting Wayne Dyer, who later sent me a book he wrote that was a parable about life and choosing each day to be happy.
Wayne Dyer said “Believing is seeing.” To his legion of fans, the best-selling author and speaker was referred to as “the father of motivation.” The man who helped so many to live life more fully recently left this world for what he saw as the next big adventure. Dyer died August 29th.
He encouraged us to look at ourselves as spiritual beings living a human experience. He said, “My purpose is to help people to look at themselves and begin to shift their concepts. Remember, we are not our country, our race, our religion. We are eternal spirits. Seeing ourselves as spiritual beings without label is a way to transform the world and reach a sacred place for all of humanity.”
In a 2014 interview with the CBS Sunday Morning News, he had this piece of advice worth remembering: “Take the last five minutes of your day, and put your attention on everything you would like to attract into your life: ‘I am well. I am healed. I am in perfect health. I am abundant. I am happy.’ Say these things to yourself. Then you’ll marinate for eight hours, and you’ll awaken and you’ll being to attract these things that are in your subconscious mind.”
