This new research sheds light on the mysterious effects of anesthesia, but it shouldn't scare parents: there is no proof that the drugs are the direct cause of the increased risk, especially when many of the young children exposed to anesthetic drugs have other medical conditions that might make them more prone to learning disabilities.
