Did you know that the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) favors a ban on the manufacture and sale of sit-in baby walkers—maintaining they don’t help, but hurt infants learning to walk?
Back in 2018, AAP called for a ban. Now Consumer Reports has sounded the alarm to ban infant walkers outright, which Canada did back in 2004. Why has it taken the U.S. so long to do the same? Must reading for every parent who owns an infant walker or is considering buying one.
As Consumer Reports makes clear:
“Despite repeated recalls, updated safety standard warnings from experts like the AAP, baby walkers continue to be sold everywhere in the U.S. and their use sends thousands of young children to emergency rooms energy year.”
If you agree with Consumer Reports as well as the AAP that it’s about time that Congress acts, will you sign the CR petition to Congress?
